Our manifesto
Our manifesto is clear: we protect your right to privacy and freedom of speech

> "It's not our site's goal to be a free-speech platform."
> - Reddit CEO Ellen Pao

This is where we draw the line. Our intent is the opposite: to create a free-speech platform.

We disagree with the censorship that Reddit and other social democratic internet communities impose upon their users. More specifically, we find it difficult to assume that a "safe platform" can be forced upon users without resulting in a system that betrays the meaning of the word "democratic". When asked about Reddit's policies, chief of WikiLeaks and maverick Julian Assange stated: "Censorship by companies controlling privatized political space is now almost a norm (...) High volume publication and control of publication by powerful organisations = censorship, all the time. We have to fight to create new networks of freedom." Frizbee is our response to this challenge to establish a platform in which users are not subjugated to censorship. We accomplish this goal through using an innovative technology in which our users' content is hosted on various user-owned and decentralized servers. Instead of storing and managing information on a central system, we allow our users to take responsibility for shared content.

We strongly believe that Frizbee fosters a community which respects the principles of liberty and the universal rights of users. These rights being:

— 01. The right to anonymity and privacy.

Your freedom of speech and liberty is protected. You can create a
limitless number of monikers which can be modified at any time. We do not store your IP address or any personally-identifiable information and you have the right to your privacy.

— 02. The absence of censorship.

Instead of censorship to those governed, the user has the ability to
"mute" or "block" certain users and servers. Furthermore, unlike other social news sites such as 4Chan and Reddit, who are notorious for having banned users for reasons due to their own agenda, we do not censor the decentralized servers on our network. Rather, the users of the servers are responsible for the content they share, and the owner of the server is responsible for maintaing its environment of civility.

— 03. The user owning the rights over their content.

You, the user, has indemnity over the content you share on Frizbee. By being decentralized and by you knowing your right to indemnity, we are able to foster a system where only you bare the repercussions of your actions. Our devotion to this goal is further accentuated by our Public Legal License, which stipulates that all the content on Frizbee is in the public domain, making us as a governing entity irresponsible for its propagation. In that way, we are able to create a culture of free-speech. In accordance with the Public Domain Legal License which all of Frizbee's user content is published under, you can use and redistribute them in any way, completely free of charge. This license facilitates an even freer distribution of content than even the ones that public services like Reddit offer.

We care about our users, and no entity, whether it be the social network you use, or "big brother", should infringe on your natural right for privacy and freedom of speech. We approach this through simplicity in thought, but complexity in design. We try in every way to make the reasonable ideals of this dream a reality. As a result of these efforts, we have successfully created a user-centric network of measured discussion and interesting thought.

All of these ideas of simplicity are built-upon a distraction-free design which centers around content and users, rather than on advertisements.

> "If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter."
